WA State INBA and IFBB Titles

Congratulations to all those who competed on the weekend. From the photos I have seen so far it looks like the INBA Nationals and Olympia are going to be awesome.

The WA state INBA and IFBB titles are on this weekend and I am looking forward to judging everyone on the day. I am sure the standard will be high so it is going to be a great day. Mike Omara always puts on a great show and I hope the WA public get behind the competitors and come and show their support.

Universe hungry jacks

I am sure there will be alot of eating going on this Saturday evening. Here is David and I in a German Hungry Jacks after the Universe. We really enjoyed this meal after 7 months of competition dieting.

This will give you all a laugh

Hello everyone,
I have been developing a seminar for a group of clients tomorrow night and I was searching through some old files of mine and I stumbled across an article that Nicole Pratt wrote about me in the REPS magazine quite a few years ago. This magazine was a small publication started by Kevin Schaeffer and was for WA Natural Bodybuilders. Well I had to let you all see this article as there are a couple of photos of me when I was really underdevloped and scrawny. As you will read I was quite sick at this time but I had the drive, determination and goal of winning a world title burning inside me.
I want you all to see these images to show how far I have come over the years. It has been a slow process but I have stuck to my plan and goals and my development is starting to show through which is great. I still have a long way to go as I am no where near as good as I can be and need to be with all the great figure competitors out there.
I have lost many shows during my figure journey but it is great to lose I believe because it teaches you so many lessons. Those competitors who learn from their losses will develop into fine competitors and will be involved in the sport for a long time not just for one or two shows.
All I ask is that you don’t laugh that loud that I can hear you all when you see these photos of me especially my hair do in one of them

Are you drinking enough water for optimum cellular health!!

Hydration is key to get super lean
Hydration is key to get super lean

Even though the weather is cold and wet it is still so important to keep really well hydrated. Have a read through this information on the importance of hydration on your cellular health.

YOUR BODY’S
Many Cries for Water

Next to Oxygen, WATER is the MOST IMPORTANT NUTRIENT for
SURVIVAL and BETTER HEALTH.

MEDICAL RESEARCH reveals that Dehydration causes many Body Pains and Causes Degenerative Diseases.

70% of your Body consists of WATER.
It plays an Essential Role in Every bodily Function

- Aids Digestion and Metabolism of Food..
- Aids Absorption and Circulation of Nutrients and Oxygen
- Improves Elimination and Excretion of Waste
- Prevents DNA damage
- Increases Efficiency of Immune System
- Maintains normal Body Temperature
- Improves efficiency of Red Blood Cells (oxygen carrying)
in collecting Oxygen in the Lungs
- Prevents and controls Constipation and increases Urinary output
- Assists in Weight Loss and Management

SIGNS of LACK of WATER

The assumption that a “ Dry Mouth” is the First Sign of Water Deficiency
is Totally Wrong… In Fact, it is the LAST SIGN.
A Dry Mouth indicates you have already reached “CHRONIC DEHYDRATION”

Emotional Signs:
Feeling… Tired, Flushed, Tense, Irritable, Anxious, Brain Fog, Fuzzy, Dejected, Depressed, Inadequate, Cravings for food or coffee, tea, soft drinks, etc

[A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory and trouble with basic maths and reading]
Physical Signs:
Fatigue, Skin (Wrinkled, Dry, Inflamed or Acne), Bad breath, Cellulite, Diabetes,
Fluid Retention, Headaches, Dark circles under eyes, Asthma, Allergies, Depression, Arthritic Joints, High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Stress, Chronic Fatigue, Angina, Stroke, Vertigo, Eye problems, Weight Gain, Slow Metabolism…

The Thirst Mechanism can become So Weak it is often mistaken for Hunger.
This leads to “Binge Eating”
YOUR BODYS MANY CRYS 28/10/03

HOW MUCH.. HOW OFTEN.. QUALITY

Your Daily Water Requirement is determined by your
Current Weight, Activity Level and Climate

Learn to Carry Water Everywhere… car, office, desk, shopping, exercising, church etc.
HOW MUCH
It is Recommended that you drink 40mls of Water per Kg of Body Weight per day.

Eg: If you weigh 60Kg, drink 2.4 Ltr (10 glasses), 70Kg = 2.8 Ltr (11 glasses),
80Kg = 3.2 Ltr (13 glasses) etc. 1 GLASS = 250ml
HOW OFTEN
It is Better to drink Small amounts Regularly as opposed to Spasmodic drinking.

These Daily Amounts must be increased when Exercising and during Hot Weather [ 2 glasses or more] or if you drink tea, coffee or alcohol [refer below].
You may wish to keep a score card to monitor your water intake.

WATER QUALITY: The “Purer” the Water, the Better.
Due to the Chemical nature of Tap Water it is NOT recommended.
Steam Distillation or Reverse Osmosis is Recommended.

Coffee/Regular Tea/Caffeine Drinks/Coke/Alcohol etc [herbal teas are ok]

These drinks CAN NOT be considered part of your Daily Water requirement.
Caffeine, Tannin and Alcohol, are drugs with toxic, addictive and diuretic properties.
They act on the Kidneys and cause increased urination, as your body attempts to flush out the toxins.
This leads to Dehydration. This is why a person is forced to drink so many cups or cans and never feel satisfied.
The Water doesn’t stay in the body long enough so the body is constantly thirsty.
This can result in misinterpretation of the thirst as hunger, leading to over eating and Weight Gain.
NB: For Every Cup or Can you drink, add an extra 2 CUPS of Water
eg 3 CUPS COFFEE = 6 EXTRA GLASSES of WATER.

WATER..BLOOD..LIVER..KIDNEYS.. FLUID RETENTION..TOXICITY..ACIDITY..DISEASE

Every 5-minutes, all your Blood passes through your Liver and Kidneys for Cleansing. Water is used as the Cleanser.

If you’re not drinking enough clean water, your body will retain the dirty water and recycle it to protect you from Dehydration.

This means, every 5-minutes you are cleaning Dirty Blood with Dirty Water.
If this 5-minute cycle continues it leads to Toxicity.

As the Toxicity of your blood increases, your Liver and Kidneys get very Stressed.
Under this Stress, your body retains the dirty water in an attempt to dilute the toxins. This causes Fluid Retention. This Toxic Fluid is very Acidic.

This Acidic State, speeds up the internal breakdown process and increases your risk of Degenerative Disease.

Rockingham Sports Star Of The Year Awards

Hi Everyone,
I have some great news for everyone in the body building world. I was a finalist in the Senior Sportstar of the year awards last night which was fantastic as body building rarely ever gets a mention in these types of award ceromonies. It was wonderful to be part of such a celebration of sport and to bring body building to the main stream and show people what a great sport it is and the dedication that is involved surpasses all other sports.

I was so happy to be named as one of the 10 finalists but at the end of the ceremony was the last award, the big one for the night. It was the John Brown Memorial Award Overall Sport Star. As they were talking about this award and what it meant I was thinking to myself wow a great team must be up for this. But to my absolute suprise my name was called as the winner and this is what was said:

It is with much pleasure that the Sound Telegraph is able to sponsor this wonderful award in memory of a true gentleman and a man who loved all sports and especially sporting participants who gave their all especially under extreme odds.
John, or JB as he was affectionately known, initiated these prestigious awards which have grown over the years and now recognise outstanding athletes and achievers.
It is particular poignant that as this years JB Memorial recipient you have been able to overcome a medical problem that unfortunately took JB from us too early and your achievement in your sport of Natural Bodybuilding is a testament to great spirit and determination.
We sincerely congratulate you on your career and wish you much success in the future year.

I was blown away recieving this award so much because the man they speak of as JB was the man who first put me in the newspaper for bodybuilding. He new I had overcome open heart surgery to go on and win a world title and he wanted to celebrate this achievement and get it out to the masses. Well he did that for me and 4 days later I rang to thank him for running such a wonderful story on me and I was told he had died the day before from heart failure due to aortic stenosis, which is the exact problem I have. So as you can see this award last night is a highlite for me both for my sporting career and on a deep personal level.

This year has been amazing for me and the community has embraced my achievements more than I can ever have imagined. So to all of you out there competing this season put 100% into it and believe you can do anything as I am living proof it can be done against all odds. Lets show the world how important our sport is and every single person who makes it to the stage should be celebrated as the journey to get there is so hard and long but worth every bit of it at the end.

Good luck to everyone and thank you to you all for your ongoing support.

10 acres of farm fun

It is a very happy day today for the Nazaroff  household. We have just purchased a magnificent 10 acre property in Bladivis WA.

Our plans are to rescue lots of baby animals that nobody wants, we are going to have chickens and have lovely fresh eggs, David is erecting a large hot house and we are going to grow all our own vegetables and I am going to start riding horses again.

I use to compete in Dressage and Showjumping for many years at a top level. I had six show horses in work and I taught beginners to help pay for my horses agistment. I have always said this is what has helped with my back development for the figure stage.

Our long term goal is to build a boutique PT studio amongst all the lovely gum trees with state of the art equipment and help develop the great potential of WA’s figure and bodybuilding athletes.

The picture below is quite old but shows you a glimpse of our new property

Our new property

Good Luck to everyone competing today. Wish I was there :)

Back on Deck

Barbara Michelle Jim in Intensive Care

This photo shows me a couple of days after my open heart surgery and I must say I never want to feel this sick again. That is why I am so passionate about how I live my life and what food I put into it. We have only got one body so we need to look after it.

Hi there,
I am finally beginning to feel better as I have been really sick with bronchitis causing dramas with my breathing and a rapid heart rate. When ever I get any type of infection it sets all alarm bells off as I need to have high doses of antibiotics to ensure no infection gets into my blood stream. If it does it can kill my donor heart valves very quickly and I would be in serious trouble. I even have to have full antibiotic protection when I go to the dentist, have a pap smear or anything like that because it is such a risk for me. I carry information with me all the time stating this in case I have an accident.
With this in mind that is why I really want to share with you all my journey as it is an ongoing one that will never be easy for me but I make every day count and cherish the people around me as we never ever know what is around the corner.
Rae I want to say how great it was to share a few hours with you today and also getting to catch up with Jeh was fantastic. It just shows that even though the comps are close you should still be able to spend quality time with your friends as you can never get today back so I believe you need to make the most of it.
Am starting back at the gym on Monday as I have missed my home away from home and Sierra is missing all her little friends in the creche.
Take Care everyone
