Blast from the past
I am home today suffering from a bad cold so am not venturing to far from home. While my little girl Sierra is playing and reading books I thought I would jump on the computer and have a look at some old competition photo’s. Now I found a cracker which I have to post.
It is of me and Rae in 2005 at the Australian INBA titles. We had such a great time at this show.
Big hi to Rae and I hope your training and comp prep is on fire.
Love you lots even though you did give me this dam cold.

Universe Titles 2009
Hi there everyone,
I just found a couple of pitures from the Universe Titles in Germany
This photo is of the super bodies line up. These girls all placed in the NABBA Universe the week before in Slovakia. I am pleased to have placed in such good company.

This 2nd photo shows me in the performance figure line up which I was originally in before being pushed up two more divisions into the superbodies catergory. I thought you might all like a look at the figure girls.
I hope everyone is training hard and on track for their shows. It is getting to the exciting part now as you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. All the hard work will be so worth it as I think the feeling you get from being onstage in your best shape is something you never forget.

Training Clothes

The Best Workout Pants
Just wanted to say a big hi and thank you to Abi from Underworld Active Wear for supplying me with the best work out gear. Margarita is from Israel and it is so comfortable and as I am in these clothes most of the day because I train 3 times it is great they are funky looking to. Check out this photo of the pants I live in.
Hope everyone is well and all on track for the shows in October.

Back Training
Back training day today which is my favourite body part to train. Chin ups of all kinds will be a main focus. I have always included chin ups in my back routine as they develop such a great V taper which is so important in Figure. The judges are looking for girls to present a Y shape on stage which is nice wide shoulders, great V taper of the back, small waist and tight detailed legs. I believe the only way to build this V taper is with big heavy compound back exercises with extremely slow deliberate form.
Judges have always commented on my back development so here is a photo of my V taper and see what you think.

Sierra Skye
Sierra Skye is my 22 month old little girl. She is one active child and a figure champion in the making. For breakfast she is now eating my egg white and oat scramble, she has mini chicken and vegie burgers i make for her for lunch and she has has grilled salmon which she loves with steamed brocolli and spinach. Now how does that sound for good eating habits. She also likes to have a sip of my Next Generation Mega Pro shake and half my pink grapefruit when I pick her up from the creche at the gym and I can see lots of mums looking at me and I think to myself well my little girl is the only one who has not been sick this winter and she towers over all others her age. So this shows a figure competitors diet is great for kiddies and nutrition habits need to be taught to them from a young age.
Don’t get me wrong everyone she still eats lots of other things and a few treats but these seem to be her favourites. I am sure it is because she sees her mum and dad eating like this so she wants to aswell. Also when Aunty Rae comes to visit we eat this way also.

Leg Training
A gruelling leg training day awaits me this morning!! I must say legs are not my favourite body part to train but they have been a huge focus of mine for the last 12 months. When you focus on something and visualise what you want them to look like it really can happen.
My workout today is focusing on strength so reps will be failry low and the weight really high. I will perform all the old school basic compound exercises with really strict form.
I change my training around alot so my body is always guessing. Some weeks I do low rep strength training, other days it is hypertrophy training with moderate reps and always once per week I do some form of plyometrics for my legs to bring out detail.

Exciting New Week
Good morning,
It is Monday morning 7am Perth time and I am about to begin an hours power walk with little Sierra. We power walk thorugh the hills along the beach front which is a great way to start the day. Sierra is taking after me now as she sqeals good morning to every single person we walk past. She just loves her morning cardio.
I am stepping up the training and cardio this week again as I had pulled it back a little to recover from my 7 months straight of dieting. It is so important to rest when your body needs it and mentally I needed a break. By doing this I am now even more energized for what lays ahead. So on that note I better get going as I am sure most of you out there have probably all finished your cardio work outs for the morning.

Big Thank You
I just want to say a big thank you to Rae for all the time and effort you have put in to developing this blog. My first lesson today was so enjoyable I just hope I remember what to do. The lunch was great also.
I hope everyone out there getting ready for the upcoming shows are all on track and enjoying the process. I can’t wait to see you all on stage and it is great to see the figure divisions growing each year and the quality of competitors just getting better and better.
Hey Jeh I really had a great time training back with you the other day and my back is still sore!!
